Born, 1948 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, I grew up in an artistic household. As a teenager, I painted my first paintings in my fathers studio in the mid 1960s.
After graduating high school in 1966, I studied computer science at Arlington Technical Institute and then went on to the University of Massachusetts, enrolled in their Batchelor of Fine Arts program for painting.
In 1979 I met artist Maurice Kennedy. A “plein air” landscape painter who was a direct connection to an illustrious line of New England landscape and seascape artist going back 70 years. I studied and painted with Maurice for seven years. Always painting out of doors in all seasons and every kind of weather, I completed hundreds of painting and received an in-depth education in oil painting. It was also during this time I met and studied with portrait artist Paul Leveille
I took on painting full-time in 1990. I ran my own gallery/studio at Rocky Neck artist colony in Gloucester Massachusetts from 1992 till 1995, and have been consistently represented in a number of regional galleries in Massachusetts.
Since the late 1990's I work almost exclusively in my studio. Working in “series”, I have evolved from pure representational painting to the current “lyrical abstraction” painting I do today.
I moved to Australia in 2009 and maintain a studio at the Lennox Street Studios in Newtown, Sydney NSW.
